The Biggest Little Hackathon FAQ

  • What is it?
The Hackathon is a 24-Hour competition where teams create a software project and show it off to a panel of judges. The idea is to make something fun and the spirit is to learn some technology or tool you've wanted to learn but haven't had a chance.
  • I'm pretty new to CS, do I still have a shot at winning?
Yes! We have a beginner category that we highly recommend you compete in.
  • How much does it cost to enter?
    It's free!
  • Do I need to stay up for 24 hours?
We aren't allowed to keep you hostage if you want to go sleep.
  • So I heard there's free food?
Yes! We will have lunch right at the start all the way until lunch right at the end.
  • How can you afford all these super cool things for us?
I'm glad you asked, check out our amazing partners!
  • My question isn't on here!
That's not a question, but feel free to ask us anything at acm@cse.unr.edu

Pre-Hack and Git Workshop

Pre-Hack

Whether you're new to Hackathons or have experience in the past, the Pre-Hack is a great chance to learn about The Biggest Little Hackathon and get ready for the main event. We will be going over the rules, judging criteria, categories, and prizes! It's also a great opportunity to meet other people to join a team or find more people for your team.

Git Workshop

Open to everyone (whether you're competing in the Hackathon or not), we're having a workshop on how to use Git. Git is a version control tool that is a great tool in industry, open-source, and school projects for collaborating with code. It's a great skill to learn, and will help you out immensely at the Hackathon if you're working on a team.
