Note: The instructions for formatting dates so that they will be displayed according to the user's own preference given at Advanced Editing and Editing Tips & Tricks do not seem to be working correctly. Sysop Ops

Creating user accounts

This site is configured so that users cannot create their own accounts. New accounts can be created by users with the Sysop privilege, as follows:

Go to wiki/Special:Userlogin
Click "Create an account"
Erase your username and password and unclick the "Remember my login" box.
Enter the new user's data and click "Create account".

Changing user privileges

Use the Special:Userrights interface.

Deleting pages

This site is currently configured so that only users with the Sysop privilege can delete pages.

Site notice

Edit MediaWiki:Sitenotice to create a notice that will appear at the top of every page.

Set it back to nothing but a dash to remove the notice.
There are other mechanisms, including a way to post a message to non-logged-in readers only. See http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Interface/Sitenotice for more information.
